I love my job

Is it weird that I love my job so much? Probably not considering the fact that all I do is read all day. I used to be afraid of talking to people and such but working at big scoop last summer helped me get over that a little bit.. I still get a little jolt of nervousness every time people come in though. I'm just scared that someone is gonna ask me a question that I don't know the answer to or something and I'm gonna look like an idiot and they'll think that I am an 'incompetent slime ball' or something along those lines anyway. To the point of this post though. People ask me funny questions sometimes. Usually Americans..
For example:

  •  'What is that big Taj Mahal building that you can see when coming into town?' 'That would be the temple.'
  • 'This is a DRY TOWN??!' This question is usually always asked with a look of disgust on their faces.
  • 'We just crossed the border and we thought we should come in and ask this... In Canada can you make a right handed turn at a red light?'
  • 'Is downtown two lanes or one?'
  • 'I don't know how to work a Canadian computer.'
  • 'Why are the maps not free? All USA maps are free!' Sidenote: if I had it my way, I'd give them their stupid maps for free... Its not my fault that you've gotta pay for em people!
  • This next one was just a question that someone else got asked but boy oh boy do I wish they woulda asked me. 'Where are the eskimos?'
  • 'Its 6 hours to Edmonton??!!' Sidenote: have you noticed that in the states you are in one town, you don't leave that town, but then you are suddenly in the next town without ever leaving the last town? They are all connected.. Not in Canada. You've gotta travel some to get anywhere and that seems to blow people's minds!
  • 'Where can we see the loons?'
  • 'Is this the museum?' No... the museum is across the parking lot. Where the arrows that say Museum are pointing to. Can you not see that the arrows that are pointing towards this building say Tourist Information Center? and that on top of this building it says Tourist Information Center? and where in here did you think this museum was? On the sign coming in it specifically states that the Remington Carriage Museum is North America's largest carriage museum.. this building, if you haven't noticed, isn't very large. Its got two carriages. Do you think the museum is underground or something? Cuz I don't think that the largest carriage museum in all of North America would be very small.. especially if they've got 250 carriages, a theater, restoration shop, restaraunt, and a gift shop. Just sayin.
  •  'You don't have a garbage in the men's bathroom.' 'Yes we do. Its right below the paper towel dispenser.' He goes back into the bathroom only to come back out a second later saying, 'You need to label it because I wasn't the only one who couldn't find it.. There is a pile of used paper towel sitting on your counter.' FYI: the garbage is, like I said, below the paper towel dispenser.. where they usually are. I don't know why that is so hard to find for the men. The women don't seem to have a problem with it.
