Fashionista Wannabe

Parker and I are back at BYU for what is my last semester! Woot woot! Can you believe that? Where has the time gone? I can't believe that in just a month and a half, I will be taking my last final exams ever. That's such a beautiful thought!

This semester has been different from the last seven for a major reason. I'm not dancing! *gasp* I know, I know... but it gets to a point where you have to take those last few classes that you need to graduate and then times for the classes that you want to take versus time of classes you have to take don't mesh. Its been interesting to say the least! I am, however, choreographing my senior project that will be presented in the Senior Showcase next month so that's keeping me on my toes.

Not dancing this semester has turned me into a fashionista wannabe. I used to be a girl that would wear sweats or leggings 4 times a week at least. Being a dance major made that so easy because all of your classmates do the same thing and no one wants to change a billion times a day and then carry around their change of clothes along with their school books and laptop. So that's just how it was, I looked sloppy. This semester, I have probably worn sweats or leggings twice a month only! This is SO different for me. I actually have time to get ready in the morning. I never knew that I would like dressing up so much as well as doing my make up and hair in different ways. I'm experimenting with fashion for the first time and I am loving it!

With that being said, I am no fashion blogger nor am I good at replicating make up and hair tutorials found online but I have loved looking on Pinterest and popular fashion blogs lately and I've been trying out the styles I like. Its been such a fun adventure and I'm loving the extra time I have to play with these kinds of things for the first time!

One of the tutorials that I tried was called the Double Dutch Braid (found on barefootblonde.com) and no, it didn't turn out exactly like the tutorial (unfortunately), but it did turn out ok enough for me to go out in public and not feel hideous! I actually got a few compliments on it! haha I will definitely be trying this hairstyle again and hopefully, with some more practice, I will get it to look more like the tutorial.

Xoxo,
